sampha

What?
Sampha + Kelsey Lu. Sampha creates soul with a foot on the threshold of electronic music. He’s made a name for himself by working with great established artists such as Kanye West, Solange, SBTRKT, Frank Ocean and Drake. Earlier this year the producer/singer/songwriter released new solo material with the single Timmy’s Prayer, and in August the second single Blood On Me came. We are now waiting with suspense on his forthcoming debut LP.

whitney

What?
Whitney + Alice Barlow. Whitney was formed in 2015 in Chicago and released their debut album Light Upon the Lake in 2016, which was received with open arms by the listening crowd as well as the critics. The band brings you indie rock with folk-influences, and contains former members from Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Smith Westerns. Paul Lester of The Guardian describes the band with the words: think Bon Iver, with elements of folk and country, only given a Chicago soul makeover. If Curtis Mayfield fronted a stoner-rock band …

pascal

What?
Pascal. The trio from Gotland was formed in 2005 and released three albums during a five-year period. The band has had an extensive break during the last few years, but the new, and long awaited album is now out. Pascal’s music has been compared to Joy Division, amongst others, an understandable comparison considering the dark and slow sound. But nevertheless, Pascal truly has their own sound and they create garage rock that’s new and interesting.

What?
Ana Diaz + Gina-Lee. The talented Ana Diaz is not only a great singer but a producer and a songwriter as well. She’s been working with huge international names, and has written for Britney Spears, One Direction and David Guetta, to name a few. In 2016 her own debut single Fyll upp mitt glas was released and Diaz has been mentioned as one of the most promising artists of 2016. Don’t miss out on her gig at Debaser Strand this Friday!

how-to-dress-well

What?
How to Dress Well + Lil T-shirt. You cannot not love an artist who’s made a collaboration song with Seinfeld2000 about Seinfeld. Tom Krell is the man behind How To Dress Well that started out as an anonymous project, but was quickly picked up and brought into the light by the critics. Krell creates swaying R&B-influenced music with a delicate, smooth voice. The new album came in September and has received some rather heavy praise.
