In autumn 2014 multi-instrumentalist Thea Hjelmeland released the acclaimed album «Solar Plexus», a folk-pop extravaganza rooted in “world music”. The album has received international praise, and resulted in a Vossajazz Prize and Spellemann for best indie album. On Thursday night Hjelmeland visits Oslo and Parkteatret to deliver her spellbinding show.

Fjorden Baby! from Loddefjord on the outskirts of Bergen have since their breakthrough in 2009 been one of Norway’s best reviewed and popular bands. With their unique, catchy and intelligent rock this gang from the suburbs have long established themselves as trailblazers for quality music in Norwegian. With new single «Har en drøm» released in September the band are hitting the road again and guest Parkteatret on Friday night for a double concert. An early show for kids as part of the venue’s Yngling concert series, and a a show for grown up kids later the same evening.

RØRSTAD hit the Oslo scene with the project Heartfelt in 2012, a sold out concert at Parkteatret and an ambitious and well received show at by:Larm the following year. Since then he’s been collaborating with French producer Stéphane Détrez which in turn led to the release of the single Bad Bad Love a year ago, and follow up Futuristic Sex in June 2015 with a video premiere on French vice.com and radio play in France & Norway. On Friday he plays live at Jæger, with producer/dj Finnebassen closing out the night on the decks.

Rockefeller’s Strømløst (Acoustic) concert series was basically invented for bands like this. Kings of Convenience, debuted in 2001 with the album Quiet is the New Loud and since then have shown that 2 guys with acoustic guitars, exquisite songwriting and vocal harmonies to rival Simon & Garfunkel is pretty much all you need to achieve international success. The band play a rare (and already sold out) Oslo concert on Sunday night.

One of Scandinavia’s biggest and most influential rock bands comes to Oslo to play Sentrum Scene on Sunday night. Danish Mew have delivered award winning album after album for more than a decade now and show no sign of letting up with the release of their latest “+ -” this year. Anyone who saw their show at Øya festival in 2009 will know to expect a visual and musical experience that few other Scandinavian bands are capable of delivering. Support comes from the also excellent Choir of Young Believers.
