The duo Rhye hail from Los Angeles and consist of Canadian producer/vocalist Michael Milosh and Danish instrumentalist Robin Hannibal (formerly of Quadron). Critically acclaimed since their debut EP “Fall” arrived in 2012, and described as a mix of Sade, Prince & Lionel Richie there’s also a touch of The XX in there, as well as Michael Franks. For fans of Blood Orange, How To Dress Well and Kindness.
Emile The Duke is regularly described as Norway’s most strange and original artist. With 3 albums to his name, including two in 2015 alone, the hype around him is slowly starting to come to a head. On Friday there’s a release party for his latest full length offering “Stuck In Traffic” with video screenings, picture exhibition and of course a concert with the man himself.
Since the early 90s Jurassic 5 have been standard bearers for intelligent, innovative hiphop, combining old school rap and politically aware lyrics with beats of the highest calibre. They haven’t released anything new since 2006, and offically broke up the year after, but have been touring again since 2013, and finally return to Oslo on Friday night. Support comes from Damien and one of Norway’s most exciting new bands kildaphew.
